Crash

Just bought the game and was enjoying it until I passed level 5 and it crashed. Then re passed level 5, crash. Tried again, CRASH!!! Not cool.

Almost perfect

This is exactly the return to early 90s adventure gaming I have been waiting for! Its gorgeous, its witty (and even subtle??), its pitch-perfect. Even the music hits the nail on the head - the retro elements of the game are lovingly rendered, but instead of getting fixed on, say, chiptunes, the score is what the games of that era STROVE for, not a pastiche of the limitations contemporary to the VGA-style graphics. I enjoy the gameplay a lot, but I find it a little bit linear, a little bit constricting, and there are stretches of exposition that arent interrupted by much more than very very specific instructions that feel about the same as watching text. I would LOVE to do more exploring, more picking up weird items and maybe not using them right away to solve a puzzle thats right in front of me, but keeping an inventory and never knowing when something will come in handy, requiring a bit more ingenuity than "whatever I can pick up in this room will help me solve the puzzle in this room." But thats just a matter of preference - the point of this review is that the game knocks my socks off. I love it, and I want everyone to buy it, and I want more like this please.

Slow and boring

Easy and boring puzzles. Lame story line.

Very Engaging!

This game is a lot of fun. Great storyline and relaxing gameplay. I like it

Amazing game

This is a fantastic game. Make sure to have the sound on while you play, the music is not to be missed.

Awesome

Great game. Definitely a throwback to old point and click adventures. Done in a charming style. Highly recommended

Good premise, awkward delivery

By occupying the same visual perspective throughout the game, a distance between actions and the golden age-era sci-fi human story exists that the controls only muddle. Controlling multiple characters at once is tedious, resulting in deaths that would be avoidable with a better control system. Exploring the dark areas is nothing like it was in old RPGs. Aside from a couple barely hidden items it is largely necessary to plot straight through the black towards objectives to get closer to a resolution. By the end I found it difficult to pay enough attention to even reach the reward. If I hadnt lived through 30 odd years of game and sci-fi history (including reading classics dating back to the 50s) I might think this game novel and nostalgic. In its current state however I would only say it is a promising effort that has room for improvement if they mean this to be an authentic result of certain tropes.

Good idea but incomplete

Space Age appeared to be a throwback game to the days of adventure gaming. The graphical style certainly meets the requirements, but the gameplay is too simplistic. In fact, there is not much of a game here. The puzzles are ridiculously simple, and there is no challenge here. If the story was more engaging this could be overlooked, but unfortunately it isnt. The music is intermittently good, but not really memorable.

Im not sure what Im missing about this game

This game is just an extremely tedious and boring combination of point and click hunting and dull levels. Im not sure if Ive missed something, but after the first half hour of play, I feel like Ive given it enough of a chance. As far as I can tell, the entire gameplay consists of making your guy walk from one end of the map to the other. Okay, in all fairness, sometimes there are two guys. I did enjoy that the graphics reminded me of Maniac Mansion

Flush it

Waste of money this game is so boring. Hard to follow story because script goes away before you can read it. 90% of this short game is reading. Dont buy

Great adventure game!

I loved this game. It reminded me of the early kings quest adventure games. The pixel graphics are good and the background music works well with the theme of the game. Listen to the two "Debug" podcasts if you want details about making the game. The only reason I gave it only 4 stars is that when there was text on the screen from the talking characters, it would go away too soon. Im a slow reader I guess. Maybe controls to delay the text from going away or even touch the screen to make it go away. Thanks!

Great fun

Definitely recommended.

Pretty, but boring.

Or just pretty boring. It’s also a shame the designer couldn’t get apostrophes right.

A true gem

This is an exceptionally original and engaging game. The gameplay is very well crafted and treats you with a unique storyline. I loved every minute of it. Thanks, guys!

Dull

Its well made, but the story isnt that interesting and the puzzles are either easy and obvious or frustrating.

Crappy

Total garbage shut it game complete waste of your money Dont buy it crap crap crap dung

Too much glory, too few niggles

Its a wee bit shorter than I was hoping, the controls are good but can be touchy (hehe), the puzzles arent very strenuous, and I saw the twist coming quite quickly. But that all just fades away in the face of such a fun, witty, sweet, nostalgic romp back to the glorious heyday of 90s RPGs.

Best dollar ever spent

Great fun. Best way to spend a dollar.

Exploring a distant planet has never been more fun!

Played from a top down perspective, this game utilizes the "fog of war" to entice the player to explore. Each chapter gradually building up the stakes. Amazing game!

Super adventure

Excellent adventure game with fun and excitement. I cannot put 5 stars yet, as my iPod 4th generation on iOS 6 does not allow me to play long (seemingly lack of memory), but the game really deserves 5 stars.
